# Sweet spots

Also called: low power, medium power, high power, magnification range.

The three exit-pupil bands a good eyepiece kit covers: low (4–6 mm), medium (2–3 mm) and high power (0.7–1.2 mm).

Low power, with a 4–6 mm [exit pupil](https://astropilot.space/glossary/exit-pupil), gives the widest, brightest views for large nebulae and clusters. Medium, 2–3 mm, suits galaxies, globulars and most deep-sky objects. High, 0.7–1.2 mm, is for the Moon, planets and close doubles.

**In AstroPilot:** My gear charts your eyepieces against the sweet spots and suggests what to add to fill a gap.
